In the recent hub-bub over the threat to build a Muslim Community Center and Mosque proximate to the hole in the ground that was once the World Trade Center, I have listened to several spokesmen from Islam who's statements and accusations have so offended me that I have moved away from my previous attitude of accomodation to that expressed below. Building Mosques Is it up to the Western World, the Christians, the Hindus, and the Confucians to cut the cancer of fanatical fundamentalism out of the ethos of modern day Islam? Or is it up to the Muslims themselves to rid the world of those monsters in the disguise of human beings who purport to speak for all of Islam? The Muslims, and only the Muslims themselves can do it....
