Demasculation of America's Boys

From your posts I can tell you and I about the same vintage and have had similar life experiences in the great events of the last half century. I don't know if you are as discouraged by what we see, I hope not. When asked about contemporary political and social issues I find myself telling family and friends that I am an old guy and what happens in the future is not my concern. I rarely post on Town Hall anymore as I feel the conservative movement is dead and the American people are nothing but a collection of weak willed whiners. The tepid response to this article seems proof that even "conservatives" believe the culture we live in is basically healthy and headed in the right direction. Enjoy your posts, keep them in the ten ring....

Demasculation of America's Boys

This thread should have a thousand plus responses. The feminization of the American male is at the core of a majority of the problems we face as a nation and a culture. Our progressively timid society, which exalts the whiner and denigrates the doer, is headed for disaster. For all those who feel it is more important for their male progeny to be in touch with their spiritual side than to develop the character traits of courage and tenacity, let me ask one question. In a generation, when the heirs of the "Dear Leader" declare Christian beliefs to be a mental disorder, who will keep them from seizing your grandchildren and sending you to a labor camp? Sheep may be a successful species, but without dogs to guard them they led short,...

Demasculation of America's Boys

In the last century when it was debated what nation had the best soldiers, I always argued the United States. While some championed the Brits, the Germans, the Legion, or our various Asian adversaries; I countered the fighting spirit, courage, and resourcefulness of a random collection of American hillbillies, ghetto dwellers, cowboys, and hispanics could defeat any foe. In the those days the spirit of Normandy, Iwo, and the Ploesti Raid ran deep in Americans. Today, I have no idea how we are able to field the 200,000 brave young servicemen we have in combat. The contemporary American male is a gutless whiner who can't even go off to college without Mom picking his classes or decorating his dorm room. It is the norm for boys today...

A Positive Balance

We all wonder what kind of depraved coward would leave a young woman to die a slow death in a water filled Oldsmobile, but what of the “mans” other accomplishments. The communication of offers to the KGB in the 70’s and 80’s in an effort undercut Carter and Reagan are well documented. This opens up the question as to how early these direct channels to the other side began. At the failure of the 1970 Song Tay Raid to rescue U.S. POW’s, people in the know strongly suspected a tip off to the North Vietnamese originated from the staff of an ardently anti-war U.S. Senator.
