American voters are incredibly ignorant and gullible. Obama's record of ultra-leftist, anti-conservative policy stances and long-term friendships with Communists, terrorists, racists and other anti-conservative types was there to be seen by anyone who would have made the slightest effort to learn about the man.

Don't have time to go find Moltov and see what (s)he said to which you are responding. However, my impression is that the column was written with the serenity of a man well grounded in what is truly important to him and not sweating the small stuff, not at all "out of a sense of despondency." Probably, the most telling sentence in the piece is, "But there is no real chance of destroying what we believe."

Were it true that "[w]hen you get shifty with Main Street, it sees right through you," the resume' challenged Communist charlatan snake oil salesman we have in the White house now would never have come close to being elected president. Unfortunately, Main Street is mostly composed of intellectually lazy and gullible dim-bulbs.

The biggest reason for the decline of the Republican Party over the last several years is it has been led by people like Mr. Gearson, the kind of folks of which a certain Jesus of Nazareth was quoted as having said: "...[B]ecause you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth." One may rationally argue for lowering barriers to legal immigration, even for "mass [legal] migration" while also supporting deportation of those who break existing law to get here. The last people this country should want to be embracing are those who have already demonstrated an absolute disdain for our laws by entering the country illegally-- jumping the line of those willing to follow the legal process, by the way. So, Mr. Bragdon is saying that, like the Laodiceans of the Christian Book of Revelations, Sen. Snowe is "lukewarm, neither hot nor cold," the type of person of whom Jesus of Nazareth is said to have commented, "I will vomit you out of my mouth." In most cases, "moderate" is simply a euphemism for one who will not or cannot take a firm and principled stand on any important issue.

Several weeks have passed since it became public knowledge that one of Obama's appointees listed Mao as a philosophical hero in a speech to high schoolers, another wants to give animals essentially the same civil rights as humans and lawyers to sue for them, another has floated madatory abortion and sterilization as solutions to non-existent overpopulation and another has advocated the "queering" of public education for lower elementary school students and praised a transvestite NAMBLA champion. None of these people have been removed by our Dear Leader from their positions, which utterly eviscerates the inadequate vetting hypothesis.
