As a hunter education instructor for the past 21 years, with more than 1,600 students who passed certification, I can honestly say there is a true sense of pride when your child experiences their first hunt. Not just the harvesting of a game animal, but the experience of the outdoors, the sunrise, the smells of a campfire, wildlife appearing from the fleeting darkness, the thunder of a turkey's gobble or an elks bugle, or ducks dropping into your decoys. All wonderful memories, that my now grown children still reminisce and remember. Someone gave me car window sticker once - Take Your Child Hunting and You Won't Have To Hunt Your Child!
