Honest question here: Did the 5.3% average under Bush include those that have given up looking for jobs? I can't imagine the left wanting to use that in a debate because it would force the point with the mythical 8.2% today but I was curious to make sure I can argue point for point.

5.3% vs. 8.2% is an apples to apples comparison, so it doesn't include people who have given up looking for jobs. There are ALWAYS some of those people around, the numbers have just soared under Obama.

In North Dakota, unemployment is 3%.
That is because private land is being used for energy production.
Public lands have been removed from this possibility, on purpose.
And then, to make the abuse worse, the success in N. Dakota, is used to up the employment figures Obama's talking heads praise.

Regardless, of the input re ND, the economy still has been on the rise though ever so slowly, and that is thanks to, for the most part, the Repub congress and senate who have thwarted every attempt to bring in necessary revenues to counter-balance a sagging economy. Despite the criticisms, FDR did amazing things though fiercely resisted by the Repubs then in the face of the Depression. I'm willing to look at the weaknesses in the leadership but this isn't one of them

Whether you've had some form of head trauma that has caused you to like Barack Obama or like all good hearted people, you can't stand him, his performance has objectively been terrible. Of course, we can debate WHY his performance has been so bad. His supporters would probably blame Bush, Republicans in Congress, ATM machines, fairy dust shortages and people forgetting to click their heels together three times before saying, "There's no place like home." On the other hand, people who haven't been drinking Barney Frankosaurus brand Kool-Aid might note that if Obama is going to blame Republicans for everything that...
