I know, but I can't help looking at it from the viewpoint of the Moderates. They are up to their navels in Social Justice and class warfare. We are in need of patriots.
If you are spoiled and shallow then that is where you will end up. But, unless you have found a better system than capitalism somewhere, you better learn more about it and how it really works. It hasn't been working since Obama and his band of Socialists arrived. Since you hate business so much, who do you think provides the money for Liberal Statists like Obama to play Social Justice games? Sooner or later, Socialism loses, and in the US is will be sooner.
Earl, No, it was enthusiastic radicals that gave Obama his base in 2008, but it was the Moderates that gave him the office. They aren't going to be enthusiastic unless a celebrity was running, because they aren't that interested in the issues and don't know we are in deep trouble. That is the problem.
safari, My question was for Call. I am not surprised by the betting odds, the big money is going to Romney, as it should.
Earl, Who is your candidate?
I agree that Gingrich would tear Obama apart in the debates. And, I think he would be a good president. But, it is very doubtful that he could get the votes to beat Obama. Too many women who voted for Obama would do so again if Gingrich was the candidate, because of the wife issues. And, lots of other Moderates who would buy into the demonization that Obama will bring out--because they don't listen much to the facts.
We are far from being out of the Social Justice woods with many Americans. We won't get back on track in one election. The real obstacle is in the minds of too many American voters who have bought into the class warfare deception. Winning the election is to beat Obama.
Many of the Conservatives in the 40% are actually Moderates. No, Romney won't rouse anyone, but the Moderates who can be enticed away from Obama (who most voted for in 2008) will vote for a moderate candidate like Romney, but not for Paul, etc. The economy is the issue and it will be worse in November than now, although the gov will manicure the stats.
Explain please--what is your math saying?
Liberals comprise roughly 20% of voters, Conservatives about 25% or so, and the rest are Moderates and Independents (another name for Moderates). Consider the candidates on the ballot and Moderates in the booth--it will be Romney or Obama. It is simply math. I like Gingrich, but I know better.
