The problem exists not only when a doctor retires but also when a medicare patient moves. I am 89, my wife is 84. When we moved last year, there was not a doctor in this medium sized town that would accept us as patients, not a single one. We finally found a doctor in the next town over, about 7 miles. Even then we had few choices. Now what do we do when THFY, the powers that be, take away my driver's license. Most people do not realize that medicare patients can not use just any doctor they wish. I know. I have heard all of the arguments. I am lucky to have medicare. Pothound

Thanks, Mike, as the old Aqua Velva ad says, after a vigorous slap in the face, "Thanks, I needed that." Onan Hill

Your point is well illustrated and understood. You write more clearly and with more common sense on any topic that you choose than almost anyone on this planet that I read. I am jealous. I want to write on a par with you. I want equality. Education will not give me that parity. I have 3 college degrees. Do you suppose that this administration could transfer some of your ability to me?

Keep up the good work. Onan Hill
