Women to the Front on Contraception

Well, those adults do have a point. It's far better to play it safe and marry later, reducing the risk of divorce. It's so risky to put all your eggs in one basket by marrying before you are damn sure of what you want in a partner other than religion. Of course, I presume she is waiting until marriage, and you have to marry young to find another marriage, which sucks.
You go Katie!

Social Pressure to Marry Is Dead

Oh no no no. You want to eliminate unwed pregnancy? Accept abortion. Hate abortion? Accept unwed pregnancies will happen. Why should this couple marry? So they can raise the child in an environment of tension if the marriage likely goes south? Now what is THAT teaching children? Single parenthood is NOT the demon it's made out to be all of the time. The quality of parenting can suck in a one or two parent home.
Like other commenters, I agree with your assessment of feminism, particularly in Europe, and about the Iron Lady. But really? Showing your legs and cleavage on Fox and being muzzled with no freedom at all? Seriously? You generally don't say anything vastly different on here that you couldn't say there, and you could've worn pants and a shirt a la Greta. And I think she still has a job, and a successful one at that.

Oh please. If you reversed your use of woman and man it would be just as true. I'm not so sure your nephews' mail-order brides have much to look forward to if you've filled their heads with such bull.

EXACTLY. Inappropriate things have always been in culture. Censorship is never the answer. Information is-there's a reason they say knowledge is power. Parents who merely say wait till marriage are shameful. Parents who say wait BECAUSE of stds, pregnancy, emotional immaturity, etc., are engaging in actual parenting, and will have healthier kids emotional and physically.
And by little other option, I mean that in terms of ability to terminate.
So Robert, you're half right. Poverty didn't totally cause abortion, but the banning of abortion will not stop it.
The government doesn't need to provide more help. No sense in more poor babies being born to irresponsible parents on the gov. teat who have little other option. Frankly, there would be less foster kids if more people adopted. It is physically impossible to provide for every unwanted child. Ergo, government should just cut funding to PP and leave abortion legal. It has no inherent right in either business.

Four Legacies of Feminism

I agree with the first point, because as a young woman, I agree that too few men want to wait for marriage. However, it's good for a mother to work outside of the home. What's the point of going to grade school and college just to waste it? Plus, some married families need the money. You can't presume to know every situation. It's good to tell women to provide for themselves. And I am sick of hearing how women need to deal on a man's terms. Mere provision is NOT the only parenting we should admire of men. They have to actually be around and interact with their kids as well, instead of a woman doing all of the boring home stuff.
