Class warfare is alive and working. I don't know how to correct that stereotype that all rich are repubs. Repubs don't even have to advocate killing poor people. I remember a theory with no merit that Pres. Bush steered a hurricane into New Orleans to get rid of a bunch of poor, black democrats. As if he had that kind of power. Dems say it out loud and get a pass. Repubs say nothing and get blamed for whatever disaster hits the country. Always a double standard. Always

The Chicago Teachers Union is not just about looking out for its members’ interests. The union wants to fundamentally change America, too.

That shift occurred when the radical Karen Lewis was elected as its president two years ago. She’s best known for mocking U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s lisp and for taking on - and defeating - Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel in the district’s first teachers’ strike in a generation.
