And while he was making that better life here in America, a Democrat jumped out from behind a cactus and said "Here's some free stuff." Of course, the Mexican took it. I don't know what the Republicans could offer that would beat free stuff. But the appeal to potential Republican Party members and voters alike must always be ideas. Buying votes, hearts and minds is a limited tactic of the Democrats. Not a long-term strategy. Republicans are strategists. Builders. Creators. We must somehow get this message across and resist the temptation to buy our way to parity.

Exactly. Employers will not hire white kids to do manual labor. Look in any Greek (or Thai) restaurant kitchen to name only two other ethnicities who also seem to shun the grunt work. Remove the market in cheap labor (i.e., ask Mexicans to go home and wait in line to come back) and Americans will once again to the "work no one wants to do" if, in fact, they want to eat. Black folks could note elect Obama (or Clinton) all by themselves.
