I don't think you're right. What I found...in May 2007 gas was 3:32 at the highest and in Oct. 2007 it was less than 3:00 in everywhere but California and some other West coast states. There it was 3:16 and 3:09 respectively. So it seems both you and some conservatives are very selective with the facts. If I'm wrong show me where it was 4:14 with some proof. I am from Missouri.
