If collective bargaining rights = human rights, then you have the right to be forced to join a union in order to work for the state. You have the right to have your union dues withheld from your paycheck by the state. Failure to comply with these rights will result in immediate termination of your employment.
Do liberals believe that people are inherently good? It seems to me they believe that people could become good if the proper regulations and redistribution programs are put in place to make said people act "morally", as defined by society and enforced by government. Conservatives believe that people acting in their self-interest, within limited rules and regulations, will make the right choices for themselves while benefiting society as a whole the vast majority of the time.
David Fenton - photographer for the Weather Underground when they were bombing buildings and scaremonger re: Alar. NRDC is one of his biggest clients. It's no secret that Fenton made sure that revenues from the Alar scare were filtered to NRDC. Follow the money again - what do you want to bet that the anti-BPA bottle replacement of choice (Tritan) was developed by a scientist affiliated with NRDC and that NRDC will make a lot of money from this new BPA scare? (I found the link last year, before Eastman acquired the company that created Tritan, but have lost it. Perhaps your research arm can find it.)

Shhh, Dr. Next thing you know, some progressive will run with your idea - probably to feed the world's poor. Not a good thing: aborting America's poor to feed the world's poor.

Is a U.S. Default Inevitable?

Drill here. Drill now. The taxes paid by the oil companies will be enough to pay down the national debt, plus we will become more energy independent. American technology for drilling is cleaner than most other countries', so we'll help the environment at the same time.

If we don't do it, China will, once they take over great swaths of American soil when we default.

He was pointing out his belief that white Americans are so racist that they wouldn't vote for a person with dark skin and a non-white dialect. Whether this is in fact the case is not known. But that Reid, and so many of our other representatives, believes that their constituents are racists is appauling. He should apologize to his constituents for judging them so harshly.

Kicking Rush When He's Down

I read the many Tweets with hopes that Rush would die when the news broke last week. The vileness made me sick to my stomach. Those who claim to be tolerant showed their intolerance. Those who value open-mindedness showed that their minds are closed.

The "think like I do or you are bad - bad enough that I wish you ill will" mentality that has creeped into our society is not much different than the Islamic terrorists' belief that all unbelievers should be killed or enslaved.

Great people debate ideas, focusing on convincing rather than forcing or intimidating. Let's all strive to be great people.

Thank God Rush Limbaugh is alive and well!

Iran's Unhappy Anniversary

Canada opened its embassy in Tehran to Green Revolution protesters seeking sanctuary today. There is also a rumor that an Iranian brought evidence of the falsified election to Ottawa, and Ottawa is protecting him.

I never thought that Canada would surpass the USA as the light of liberty.

Our government may not support the Green Revolution, but many of the U.S. people do.

Wikipedia says that all recent administrations have had czars, but do not distinguish the powers that are bestowed to the Obama czars from the limited powers (advice-only) of those they call czars of the past. We need an in-depth look at these czars. What are their pasts? What are their powers? How much are they costing the tax-payers? Why do we need them - are they redundant to those who have been officially appointed and confirmed by Congress?

Thank you!
