Why Did He Kill All Those Children?

I worked in the video game industry as a programmer for a period of time. I never worked on any hyper-violent games, however I am very uncomfortable with this article. I agree that many of the video games today are in bad taste or even disgusting, however giving the government the ability / duty to censor video games is wrong. I don't want a new division of the government whose job is to play games and then decree if they can be sold or not. There is a rating system in place for video games that is not run by the government. The ESRB system groups games into different categories including E (for everyone), T (for teens), and M (mature). As for the shooting in Newtown, it was done by an evil sociopath.
