Too many times folks have used "libertarianism" and "conservatism" and "states rights" as excuses for racism. That is why so many minorities are turned off to an ideal that benefits them more than our current liberal democratic course.

I am a Republican, and I am black which puts me in a minority since most blacks are democrats. I have been accused of being a "sellout" and "Uncle Ruckus" for my views on problems and issues in the black community and by not always jumping to play "the race card" in conflicts between blacks and other ethnic groups.

Larry Elder however, in this article shows his mass ignorance of the importance of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Maybe Larry has forgotten about the violence waged against blacks for a century post civil war? Maybe Larry should read up on reconstruction, Jim Crow, and segregation?
