Why don't you answer your own question first. People like you believe in "livable wages" but a livable wage is differnet to everyone. I may only need X but you probably need 2X. You pay a worker what the market will allow. If someone over in China, India or a right to work state can make it cheaper, then so it will be. Either the company makes money or it goes out of business. Better to have a job make less thanhave no job at all. Unions have to get over thinking they can demand whatever they want now that we are a global economy where there are people actually willing to work.

Michigan is one step closer to becoming a Right to Work state. Last night, both the state House and Senate passed bills that would forbid the public sector unions from taking 2% out of workers’ paychecks for dues payments, regardless of whether or not they’re members. The bills can’t be passed into law until Tuesday, owing to procedural requirements, but they’re almost sure to prevail, at which point Gov. Rick Snyder has vowed to sign them.
