There WILL be civil disobedience if guns are outlawed, just as there is when drugs are outlawed or prostitution or gambling. Disobedience in connection with drug confiscation has led to many shootings, but has not incensed law abiding citizens because the disobedient folks are hardly admirable. But resistance by solid citizens may force people, including law enforcement to choose sides. The resistance led by MLK had its victims, but galvanized the country on the side of justice.

I periodically share public opinion data, either because I’m encouraged by the results or because I think that the research helps show how to frame issues.

Examples include polling data on personal retirement accounts, the dangers of big government, support for spending caps, and viability of class warfare tax policy.
