Community Organizer Goes to War

"Displease" some people? The man hates our founding principles, seeking to substitute them with his own twisted ideological view of what he thinks a centralized, all-powerful federal government should do to its citizens. "Displease?" That is an understatement sir.

The Myth of Liberal Compassion

Not so, goldilicks. Conservatives understand that "real" compassion comes from the individual, the family, the neghborhood church or the local populace . . . NOT the federal government. For all of the talk of the hypocritical left of "think globally, act locally" they ALWAYS seek to empower the centralized, liberty-eating behemoth in DC. That is not compassion, no matter how much you try to convince yourself it is.
Vote the neo-con bums out. They are selling this country out with their political gamesmanship.
Facts are indeed stubborn things, Lambro. I guess that is why you chose to distort, and in some cases, ignore them.
They are evil corporations! Tax them into non-existence! All commerce should be local . . . better yet, people should be given what they need because it is so demeaning to have to work for a paycheck.

Civil Libertarians' Hypocrisy

What is a "civil libertarian?" Do you mean Libertarian, Jonah? Libertarians are rightfully alarmed at out of control federal growth in direct contravention of the US Constitution. Why try to use a put-down like "civil-libertarian" to belittle their beliefs? The Republicans had better wise up very quickly or they will continue to lose seats and influence. They must learn to stand on principle, principles of our Founding as codified in the Constitution. They, just like the Dems, twist and pervert the Constitution when it means political gains then claim fealty in defeat. Their act is wearing thin and will drive Hillary into the white house. Your defense of the establishment of Republicanism will make it so, while our only hope lies in the principles of republicanism.

The Government Monster is Alive

Well said, Chris. When will the states realize the monster they have created is destroying us and reign it back in? I keep hoping Texas will be the first but no such luck yet.
Great point, J. Murray. Where were the Republicans when this atrocity began? They were arguring for it! That was when I stopped being a Republican, and urge all constitutional conservatives to do the same. We must stand on, and return to the Constitution as it was intended by the Founders. We must stand on principle, not political whims.

"Strict and proper reading of the Constitution"????? It means what it means. You are correct; the federal government does not have power in the area of employment laws precisely because it is not expressly granted in the document . . . that power is left to the states. If you believe the feds should have that power, then AMEND the Constitution! You can't just dismiss the four-corners, obvious meaning of the document and wink-wink, do what you want anyway. Oh, I forgot, you can because you are smarter than the rest of us dummies who have sworn to protect the document.
