One women Rosa Parks, defied the status quo. One women, Ms. O'Hara, defied the status quo. Another women using a nom de plume defied the American status quo. Homosexuals as a group defied the status quo. The American conservatives mustering the power, influence, and authority of the Christian church, the Caucasians, and the wealthy attempted to defeat three women and a bunch of homosexuals failed miserably.

Secretary of State John Kerry chose an interesting place to deliver his first foreign policy address. The former Massachusetts senator spoke at the University of Virginia. He was introduced by the university’s president, Teresa Sullivan. Dr. Sullivan noted that the university’s founder, Thomas Jefferson, had served as the first Secretary of State.
