Then, Booker T's "Up from Slavery" is a miracle.
How Booker T Washington is persona non grata is another example of history filtering....

I heard a speech from Henry Louis Gates (Commonwealth Club, San Francisco)where he was laying out his "struggle". He inserted, AND glossed over-almost in a whisper, the fact that his father worked 3 jobs to provide for his family, but made sure that he was at the dinner table EVERY night--the only time he really had to spend with his family. I couldn't believe all the talking points in that statement. Then he moved on. I screamed at him through the radio!
