Ann Coulter said before the election that if the Republicans could not defeat Obama they were done as a party. Some like George Will, months before the election said instead of concentrating on beating Obama Republicans should just try to take the senate and control Obama that way.One thing for sure, the Republicans were led more by McClellan than Grant during those years. As a matter of fact, Republicans would rather have a George McClellan! Fixing things would be painful, even if we did it now. Four years hence, probably impossible. As Buchanan writes in his piece today, "That leader is not in sight" or something like that.

The news media was agog on Sunday because the sacred holyday, the 12th Annual “No Pants on the Subway” event, took place around the world.

Yes, people on subways crossing metro areas everywhere dropped “trou” and showed the world what ought to be kept between a person’s significant other and their proctologist.

The internet today is full of colorful and creative- and mostly chaste- pictures of public transportation riders in their skivvies, yucking it up for cameras.     

And why?

Probably because while 25 percent of Americans chose to spend Sunday worshipping God and football, in capitals around...
