I eagerly await John Ransoms Saturday night slaughter and try to get my idea's registered while comments are still on point! I certainly smell a rat when I read that 870 thousand people went to work in one month which would certainly alter the unemployment calculations. The unscientific part of the calculation I would guess is the household survey which seems to be the most opaque! As I mentioned in my comment last night, if 870 thousand went to work then the IRS, by law, received 870 thousand brand new W4 tax forms that month;that would be easy enough for Bob Woodward type reporters to verify? It is like climbing Mount Everest; First they have to WANT TO!

I heard a brief report about a change in the registration for unemployment procedure. People were told that they did not be on the list as actively looking for a job in order to get the unemployment..So a lot of people just stopped saying they were looking for a job. So what? It seems that only those on the actively seeking employment list are counted as being among the unemployed! So some 500,000 disappeared from the job seekers, so unemployment dropped by 500,000 so the % dropped from 8+% to 7.8+%. Easy for Obama to say, huh?

Just curious, dahni. When these changes easing the requirements for receiving unemployment pay and the welfare/work rules, do they get documented somewhere or is it just passed down the chain by word of mouth? Is there a paper trail?

After Ollie North got nailed because his emails were not permenantly deleted (he thought they were) the Clinton administration actually documented or recorded as little as possible, leaving little paper trail.

The Obama people circumvent protocol by asking employees to use their Personal email to do much of the dirty work; that leaves no official record which is available to the congress. Would you say clever or devious?

Did I perhaps, just answer my own question? Do you suspect these unpopular instructions were passed to the unemployment and welfare offices by Personal Email?
