No one today wants to live by those guidelines as required by the Church! The Church teaches against Gays and, by extension, same sex Marriage! The same with Abortion and contraceptives. Divorce, anyone? Did someone mention lying or “nailing” your neighbors wife or your Secretary? Just ask Newt Gingrich, Bill Clinton or most of us men what a good idea that is! So, I am sure you get the point by now. The image and pageantry of the Pontiff, while not bigger than the British Crown, today overshadows British Royalty which still serves a purpose of directing an organization ( and leads a church) representing a civilization that, at least, is centuries more advanced than that practiced in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and most of the Moslem world.

Losing Patience With the New Pope

Many millions of Catholics around the world were joyous with the naming of a new pope -- a holy man from the Third World no less. Even in choosing his name, Pope Francis is emphasizing a devotion to the poor, and humility in his clothing and manners.

The liberal media should be lapping this up. There was an accurate recounting of the global rejoicing, especially in Argentina. There were hopeful words about his pastoral modesty. But as the day came for the pope to be installed, the natural secular liberal nastiness toward the oldest Christian faith bubbled up in demands for "tolerance"...
