Required reading for Jonah Goldberg: Victor Davis Hanson's recent column in the National Review "Iraq: A Convenient Scapegoat." It makes mincemeat of Peggy Noonan's column. Remember Jonah, Peggy Noonan like John Kerry supported the war before she opposed it, Noonan supported Obama's election to the Presidency and Noonan is trying to re-write history so that instead of our military's success with the "surge" Iraq is treated as another Vietnam. Very little could be more destructive of the Republican Party. So don't be stupid; the so called smart people are talking nonsense.

Now, I should qualify that question by explaining "mess" and "we." By "mess," I mean the dawn of Barack Obama's second term, the predictably catastrophic rollout of Obamacare, the exploding debt and deficit, the stimulus boondoggles, etc. By "we," I mean conservatives (particularly those, like me, who supported the war), but also anyone else who doesn't think Obama has done a bang-up job.
