That "one true democratic country in the M.E." schtick is more than a bit hackneyed...by siding so intently with the 5 million in Israel we keep alienating the > 1 billion Islamists.

Never have so many (American taxpayers) been made to spend so much (several $ trillion) for so few (5 million Israeli Jews...the population of Metro Atlanta)! That is a cool $600,000 per Israeli just to take down Saddam...and now Iraq leans toward Iran! Such a deal!

Now, I should qualify that question by explaining "mess" and "we." By "mess," I mean the dawn of Barack Obama's second term, the predictably catastrophic rollout of Obamacare, the exploding debt and deficit, the stimulus boondoggles, etc. By "we," I mean conservatives (particularly those, like me, who supported the war), but also anyone else who doesn't think Obama has done a bang-up job.
