Reading his book, No Apology, and following his campaign, I am convinced that Scherz has it right. (Und das ist kein Scherz.) Nice job, Scherz! Obama will not be able to say that Romney is a heartless Republican who doesn't care about people and their healthcare. But conservatives should understand that states are not federal governments. States rights is an important issue which the previous Republican candidates never quite caught on to. The constitution gave states rights and it is not unconstitutional to exercise them. Romney has the advantage of having gained an understanding by working with healthcare issues, rather than memorizing 20 second soundbites.
