They aren't offended by the painting, They are offended that their government is posting up religious messages. As well they should be.
"Christian Privilege" That's it. There in a nutshell. This whole "war on Christians" is nothing more than them losing privileges they never should have had in this country in the first place.
"So why were there church services in the Capitol during the Early National Period?" Because this country was utterly dominated by Christianity, that no one had the courage or inclination to speak up against it. Now that we have a much, much, more diverse population, people feel less threatened to speak out against things like the military posting up Bible quotes.
Because it's government endorsement of religion. The prevention of which was foundational to this country from the start.

I try to avoid movies by the scientology freaks, Cruise, Travolta, Will Smith, etc. That's one particularly evil bunch. (the church, not the actors) PS. Don't agree with me on the comment boards or you'll be put on their list. (yes, the COS, maintains a vigorous enemy list)
Well, if you want to consult the grammar nazi, you shouldn't be ending your sentences with a preposition. "Do you know what apostrophes are for?"
"Of course, said stoner will get away with it because he couldn't be charged with driving under the influence since Colorado hasn't come up with any legal way to measure and prosecute intoxication by THC." Wrong. http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_23189484/colorado-legislature-gives-final-ok-marijuana-driving-limit
Oh please. There are dozens and dozens of chemicals in every house that will kill kids if they ingest them, No one is going to die from eating a pot brownie, nor even be affected by it after a couple hours.
Sweet, Romney is winning in Colorado, wait, no he's not. Oh shoot, he lost, what a bummer, laugh.
Somehow, I think if it were verses of the Koran inscribed on those sights, this crowd would be singing a completely different tune.
