The Three Amigos of ignorance right here. Where's your compassion for people able to find their own happiness? Why do you let your opinions dictate which facts you choose to believe in? How come you don't have any faith in the institution of marriage?
At what point do you realize you're deluding yourself? Clearly, you have a strong opinion on this issue, but to constantly, consistently and to completely avoid or deny hard facts must be mentally exhausting. I'm reading all of your responses and I'm just baffled.

Wait a minute, are you a socialist? Since when do conservatives care about societies resources based on behavior? I suppose you oppose smoker's rights, and support Bloombergian efforts to ban large sodas? After all, these lifestyle choices come at great costs to society. Also, you can say with certainty that basically 100% of children raised by gay parents were deliberate, wanted and loved. Can you say the same for their heterosexual counterparts? My fellow marriage equality proponents love to point to the divorce rate to opponents to show them that they've destroyed marriage from within, and thus have no grounds to prevent others from marrying. Well, the depressingly high abortion rates show that heterosexuals can't control their urges either, nor do they care for the consequence (ending a life)--that's the ultimate narcissism right there. You should actually thank the gay rights movement. They started their crusade for marriage in the belly of the beast as far as social unrest is concerned, in the liberal strongholds of this country. The state by state campaigns, long marches, lawsuits, protests and conversations to fellow Americans, all about why marriage is so important, enduring and necessary. They're really doing your work for you, but much more effectively.

The best institution to combat promiscuity is not the government, it's marriage. Thanks for the endorsement.
Tolerance & understanding are my guesses.
By overwhelmingly disapprove, do you mean support at record levels? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/01/california-latinos-favor-_n_2789185.html
Maine voted against marriage in 2009 and then for it 2012. All polls showed Californians have moved in the same direction at break neck speed. The ground is falling out of this argument too. Face it. This issue is lost for conservatives. Latinos support marriage equality at a higher rate than whites. Every single religious group has seen support swell in their own ranks. Show me a US religious denomination where support for marriage equality is lower than it was in 1996 when DOMA started this national conversation. You won't find any. This issue is moving in one direction and one direction only.
If the elevation of gays to equal status is what brings about a nation to lose its moral compass, then you can always go to Iran and Russia who are bastions of morality apparently.

Well then, even your afterlife is going to be full of disappointment.

So you voted against Reagan? He's the one who appointed Kennedy.
