If German tanks were not substandard, why did they adopt big gun- wide tracks - diesel engine (or gas turbine) - slope armour - after war? Why did all nations went the Russian route, and not the german tank route? I'll tell you why - because russians got them right, and germans didn't. Stuka was an outdated plane, only good for first 1-2 years of war, and final analysis argued they sounded more scary than the caused damage. French are like Italians - worthless fighters. Yes, they had better tanks than Germans. Everyone who had tanks (except Brits) had better tanks then Germans - French, Czechs, Russians. Americans had no tanks in 1941.

The Progressives won on Tuesday.

I don't mean the people who voted Democrat who call themselves "progressive." Though they won, too.

I mean the Progressives who've been waging a century-long effort to transform our American-style government into a European-style state.

The words "government" and "state" are often used interchangeably, but they are really different things. According to the founders' vision, the people are sovereign and the government belongs to us. Under the European notion of the state, the people are creatures of the state, significant only as parts of the whole.

This European version of the state can be nice. One...
