"The question is framed incorrectly. They ask if GOVERNMENT should care for the people. " Care or people, or run their lives? The Democratic party represents the Government, not the People. The People are a means for the Government in their ideology. Hence the words from the Mesiah himself that the Bill of Rights is seen as a negative list of what the Government cannot do.
New research out notes that self-identified liberals are indeed more liberal - with the ignore and block buttons on social media platforms when it comes to arguments they disagree with.
