New Rule: All Teachers Should Be Required to Carry Guns

I find it really interesting that Doug Giles thinks it likely that an armed school administrator could have incapacitated someone so heavily armed and armored. Just like the Batman movie theatre murders -- do you really an armed man would have been likely to take out a heavily armed and armor attacker? I have no evidence one way or the other, just a suspicion that the propositon of a single armed person against such a heavily armed person would rarely work ...

You don't have to "incapacitate" him. Just knock him down; spoil his aim, until you can restrain him and his intended victims can escape.

The Oregon Mall shooter was stopped by a concealed carry warrior. funny how the media leaves that out...

It only takes one well placed bullet to take out anyone. IF a teacher had been trained to shoot well and accurately, if said teacher had access to a fire arm that was placed in a safe zone where no child had access but was easily obtained when needed, if a teacher had the opportunity to get off one well placed shot then yes it would have stopped this man before he could have taken more lives. The fact that the young man had many guns and a lot of bullets means that he intended to do just what he did do. To kill everyone he could before the police got to him. He could not shoot every gun at once . That is common sense. He choose small children . He was a coward.

"I have no evidence one way or the other"

The only thing in your post that is not conjecture. The faculty were not armed, and we know what the outcome was.

My heart is sick. I feel so sorry for the children who were murdered, as well as the parents and loved ones of the slain kids and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. All of us here in the U.S.—who still have a soul—pray for those whose lives were just senselessly shattered.

But imagine if at least one teacher (with a concealed weapons permit) had their .40-caliber Glock with them, locked and loaded, when this weed Adam Lanza began his murderous mayhem Friday on the Sandy Hook Elementary School campus. What would have happened differently?
