Hispanics' Missed Opportunity

I teach English for speakers of other languages in a high school, and generally concur with Ms. Chavez. While I'm all for putting teeth into deportation provisions (especially where criminal aliens are concerned), I think the "threat" from Hispanic immigration is overblown. I wish I had a dollar for everytime I've heard a Latino immigrant parent regret the inability to attend English-language classes (two or three menial jobs); and welcome the way a few area community colleges are stepping into the gap. A better program would be for people like Kevin Jennings and those who want sexual education to be about "finding yourself through experimentation" to be publicly executed. Sex-ed should feature abstinence and mandatory three hours...

Black Crosses and Black Deaths

Amen, Bro. Jackson--and tell the BCA to take their crusade to China. It burns a lot more coal than we do, and does it far less efficiently (and hence in a much less ecologically responsible manner).
Whatsa matter, Nickie? Too many black people getting educated, thinking for themselves, and becoming less likely to be cannon fodder for a Far Left that wants them (along with all the rest of us) back on the Ole Plantation?
Retired Geek, I agree with you 155%. No 'Bama 2012!
Very well, let's cede New Jersey back to Britain. After all, the guy who signed the Declaration of Independence for that state was the Reverend Dr. John Witherspoon (Presbyterian)--hence retroactively violating the Wall of Separation of Church and State. And, Witherspoon was only one of the "black legion" of Presbyterian and Congregationalist clergymen in the colonies who supported independence, leading Horace Walpole to quip that "Cousin America has eloped with a Presbyterian parson". Closer to our own times, lets get rid of everything Martin Luther King ever stood for, for he was a Baptist clergyman getting involved in politics. And, maybe if atheists would spend their time in the scientific labs they claim to be their temples...
They haven't been taken out because we have a Bill of Rights which our government more or less respects. In this respect we are unlike such progressive countries as Mainland China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Cuba, where the Sarandons, Tokhes-ners, and Hankses would have gotten 9mm cerebral hemorrhages toute de suite.

The Absurdity of the Racialist Playbook

I identify with some of this. I am officially "white", my wife is officially "Asian". When our older son was in Middle School, he asked which racial box to mark, and I told him to mark both the white and Asian ones. I got called to the carpet by the school administration and ended up asking them "Which parent do you want him to deny?" They actually glowered at me. But, if there are a lot of Nettleton black people in arms over the school saying that minority fathers aren't usually around, count me in with them. That's a bit of nasty stereotyping if ever there was one.

I work in a mostly Black and Hispanic High School as a teacher. If I had a green dollar for every time I heard an African-American student or colleague speak Standard American English, I'd be enjoying a comfortable retirement now.

And, finally, if people can be good Communists but critical of Stalin... I am a proud FASCIST, although critical of Hitler and Mussolini, and for the complete deregulation of American education. I am a proud RACIST, even though I am horrified by the neo-Nazis and Klan; voted for a black man for Senate; hobnob with lots of non-white people;and believe in equal rights for all, regardless of race, color, or previous condition of servitude; and have no qualms about miscegenation. After all, that's what the elites call me when I am critical of them.
