One thing that all states should do, but probably only those with Republican governors will do, is bring back the old fashion mechanical voting booth. You know, the one where you have privacy, where you can see who you voted for rather than have some computer program log it in for you or whomever it was programed to register, where both parties can open and verify the vote count before the booth leaves the voting location. This won't stop the dead from voting but will help insure that you vote both counts and is for the person you pulled the lever for. While it might not be as cool as digital, but at least some 14 yr old hacker can't access the system and change a million votes and erase another million.

In the wake of Mitt Romney's loss, many Republicans say the GOP must make far-reaching changes to be competitive in future elections. White voters are a smaller and smaller part of the electorate, they point out, while Latinos and other minorities are growing as a percentage of the voting public. Unless the Republican Party reinvents itself to appeal to those voters, the argument goes, the GOP can get used to being out of power.
