Our founding fathers got it right, by preventing government from creating a state religion and by prohibiting government from interferring with the free exercise of any religion. I contend that the establishment of the public education system violates these limits by establishing a state religion using the public school system to propagate and convert non believers and interfere with the religious and moral training done by parents in the home. Therefore (so called) public education needs to be removed from state and federal control and returned to the communities where a child can be trained to sing "God Bless the USA" and anyone that doesn't like it doesn't have to sing it.

In addition teachers and administrators would be required to teach meaningful and acceptable subjects and have academic standards set by the parents in the community and not some distant union or state/federal department of liberal propaganda. The local elected school board should be able to hire and fire teachersand administrators that are not performing.

This is actually a pretty good point. Atheism is for all intents and purposes a religion. Isn't the goverernment just indoctrinating our children into a Leftist, Godless mob? Kudos for an excellent thought.

The word and religious police are running wild again in Massachusetts. At one school, children have been told to sing "We love the USA," instead of the original "God bless the USA," in a song for an upcoming school assembly.

According to parents, children at Stall Brook Elementary school were told to sing "We love the USA" instead of "God Bless the USA" during the chorus of the popular Lee Greenwood song.
