So we can pay off the takers at the expense of the makers?!? OK GOP you are now the enemy along with your lefty prog friends who can't keep gov spending under control or hands off of my wallet. What is it about "cut the spending" that you don't understand? Nov 2014 is coming and you will regret not listening to the makers.

They cannot really cut much spending without firing at least half the federal work force and ending many departments entirely. How is that feasible?

Works for me, it's feasible if they cut the Alphabets, especially those who are amassing billions of hollow points; and cut the funding for the unelected and unconfirmed Czars. And maybe cut the funding for Barry's toy plane. and his vactions/

Despite talking for months about using the debt ceiling as leverage to get Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to pass a budget, spending cuts and entitlement reform, House Republicans are expected to vote on a temporary debt ceiling increase tomorrow.

House leaders on Monday unveiled legislation to permit the government to continue borrowing money through May 18 in order to stave off a first-ever default on U.S. obligations. It is slated for a vote on Wednesday.
