Agree with her or not, reading an Ann Coulter column takes serious concentration. I'd compare it to one of Dennis Miller's rant monologues when he's really on a tear.. You have to pay close attention just to keep up. "The Tofflers' recommendation that children be eased into the coming technological revolution with adult mentors sounds like the proposal of Clinton's surgeon general, Joycelyn Elders, that schools teach teenagers to masturbate. In both subject areas, the children can teach their elders a few tricks." Keep it up Ann! But when the dust settles next summer and the mantle lands on the GOP candidate's shoulders -- save some ammo for the battle that counts next November!!

The reason the GI Bill was has been so successful for 60 years is simple: With the GI Bill, students perform the military service first, gain some life experience, mature and decide on a life plan. All of these 'wannabe' GI Bill copy cat plans provide the education first and then expect the student to 'contribute to public service' later. Not a good plan!! Indentured servitude went out of fashion a couple of centuries ago. I would hate to have my hospital orderly, corner traffic manager, Social Security clerk or whatever, performing make work under duress, just to repay a college loan.

The irony of this story is that if 'Gramps' had been convicted and sentenced back in '85, he'd have served his time and been out long ago. Instead of twenty-five years of looking over his shoulder and now facing 'da Judge!! You do the crime -- ya' gotta do the time!!!

My faith in the courage of American politicians to stand up to the press and the rabble rousers has dwindled rapidly in the last few years. My thanks to Governor Walker and the Wisconsin GOP legislators for giving me hope once again!! Well Done!

Hear Hear!!! Here's my High Five for the SCOTUS on this one ---- if 435 Reps can interfere with the several states, squander money like they do, and gnerally foul the air inside the Beltway -- just think what damage 870 or 1740 of those rascals could do. If we need to make a change, let's limit the Congressional Calendar to the first three months of each calendar year -- let them get the business of the country done..... and then return to their Districts for the other nine months. Then we'd see some real representative government!!!!

I have never been an avid space race fan, and sometimes doubted the wisdom of our national priorities when spending so much on the Lunar rock shopping trips. But, having said that.......

In this troubled 21st Century World, I seriously doubt the wisdom (read - sanity) of ceding space to the Russians and the Chi-Comms. Whether as a platform for weapons, spying, communications, or whatever.

As we learned in War 101, always fight for the high ground!!
