The answer is just so simple. The government does NOT want self-motivated, self-sufficient people. They want whining serfs dependent on their handouts. Look at all the major federal programs, and you have to reach the same conclusion. It's not about solving problems. It's about creating problems, so the government can create a bureaucracy to study the problems. But never actually SOLVE any problems. The government LOVES problems that never go away. So they don't go away. They get worse and worse, over time. Compare the lives of inner-city blacks in the 1950's, versus now. Case closed.
"There are no jobs!" That is what people told me outside a government "jobs center" in New York City.

To check this out, I sent four researchers around the area. They quickly found 40 job openings. Twenty-four were entry-level positions. One restaurant owner told me he would hire 12 people if workers would just apply.

It made me wonder what my government does in buildings called "job centers." So I asked a college intern, Zoelle Mallenbaum, to find out. Here's what she found:
