The VP Debate

Observe that commentators on the "debates" (ironic quotes) almost always focus on how candidate A "looked," or whether or not candidate B "rolled his eyes" or candidate A "looked at his watch." Frankly, I don't give a hoot about how someone looked, or if they rolled their eyes, or if their makeup was badly done, or if their tie was ugly. I care about the issues. Unfortunately, the two major parties are true experts at filling all kinds of time with words, while saying nothing. Even Rich Galen, a fan of Ryan, has to admit in this article he has no idea how Ryan is going to "save" Medicare.

I hope they do give vouhers and transition Medicare to an all private system and abolish the nightmare now know as ObamaTaxCare and make the insurance companies compete for ever single customer across the U.S. My car insurance rates haven't changed for 20 years because I can pick up the phone and shop my coverage around, it is about time that I can do the same with my health care.

Pregame:

Democrats have been stunned by the staying power of last week's debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

The other day Obama did a taped interview for the Tom Joyner radio show. In it he said he had been "too polite" toward Romney in their debate but we were not likely to see that next time.

It seems like every cab in which I've ever ridden in Washington, DC had Diane Rehm on the radio. Since 1977 I've been working through the dial to find the "All Diane Rehm" station, but I've been unsuccessful.
