Secession and Other Fantasies

The genius of the Founding Fathers (now thoroughly demolished) was redefining the concept of "sovereignty". In the Founding Fathers' view, the ultimate "sovereignty" lay with the individual. The individual then voluntarily ceded a few, strictly limited powers to the local community. The local community then ceded a few, strictly limited powers to the state. The state then ceded a very, very few strictly limited powers to what the Fathers called the "general government". Today, the system has been totally reversed: The central government views itself as "sovereign" in ALL MATTERS. The states are the vassals of the central government. The local community is the vassal of the state. The individual is the vassal of ALL of them.

The genius of the fiunders was to see sovereignty starts with God, and is to be understood through this perception. For man to have sovereignty apart from God, all property becomes arbitrary.

Under this system of complete sovereignty of the central government, what can an individual, community, or state do about it? Beg and grovel for the Supreme Court to stop approving blatantly unconstitutional laws? Boy, that worked splendidly with Obamacare, didn't it? With the alleged "conservative" Chief Justice delivering the decisive blow.

Vote for a mealy-mouthed, compromising Republican, as opposed to a full-throated socialist Democrat? Sure.

Nullification? Now we're talking.

Article 5 Convention? We're making progress.

Secession? That is the ultimate solution. Government is always least harmful when its scope is small, limited, and local.

A con con us as assuredly as dangerous as voting for the socialist. The socialist elite are in both parties. It us afn infestation. Every state wool end up selecting socialist representation and we will be way worse off than we were. I recommend identifying the enemy, and rooting him out. How many state party personnel, our local need rooted out. Work our way up, hold new people accountable, and change l local and state rules to make it happen. Clean out the part, our secession.

Some fringe conservatives seem perversely determined to turn a stinging electoral defeat into an epic, sweeping disaster. That’s the deeper meaning of current talk about impeachment, secession, third parties, civil disobedience, and onrushing apocalypse.

The Conservative Majority Fund has announced a new robocall campaign to build support for impeaching President Obama over mishandling of the affair in Benghazi, Libya, and alleged malfeasance on a host of other issues. Meanwhile, petitions demanding the secession of Texas, Alabama, and at least a half dozen other states have already gathered tens...
