If you are considering home schooling your child, consider this: you probably already have a home computer, if you are reading TH. You can use that computer to access top-notch, K-12 (and beyond) programs, for free. Khan Academy is one of the best, but there are dozens. Use this as the core of your home schooling curriculum. But supplement it with other activities. Visit museums. Plant and maintain a garden. Read books. Do charitable work. In all this, your child learns both core knowledge, and values. Or, you can sentence your child to 12 years in the government propaganda camps. Your choice.

There are Christian, Catholic, non-denominational, etc. Many of them emphasize the 'old classical' non-revisionist, non-progressive curriculums. Facts show many successful homeschoolers going on to college - but with a solid old fashioned education.

America's downfall doesn't begin with the "low-information voter." It starts with the no-knowledge student.

For decades, collectivist agitators in our schools have chipped away at academic excellence in the name of fairness, diversity and social justice. "Progressive" reformers denounced Western civilization requirements, the Founding Fathers and the Great Books as racist. They attacked traditional grammar classes as irrelevant in modern life. They deemed ability grouping of students (tracking) bad for self-esteem. They replaced time-tested rote techniques and standard algorithms with fuzzy math, inventive spelling and multicultural claptrap.
