How Republicans Can Find Themselves

Don't blame me; I at first supported Ron Paul, and then Gary Johnson, both of whom were far, far superior to the flip-flopping, say-anything-to-get-elected Chameleon-Man, Mitt Romney. If Republicans want to earn the votes of young people, they need to stop throttling the voices of libertarian conservatives. The hidebound, sclerotic Republican establishment (not necessarily the rank-and-file) needs to offer true alternatives to the Democratic Socialist Party. I even have a slogan that's way better than "HOPE AND CHANGE." It's "PEACE AND PROSPERITY." Advocate a non-interventionist foreign policy, along with massive cuts in domestic spending. Anything less than that is just "Democrat Lite."

You backed Johnson to punish Romney and we now have the most leftist president on the last 60 years. Nice view of political reality.

If Paulus Texto0r's vote counted that much, Johnson would be President. To me, one thing killed Romney's chances - his stance on Iran. BTW, I did vote for Romney, but it did no good in Ohio.

Also, Romney being Mormon apparently kept 3 million or so fundamentalists home. blame them, not Libertarians, for the loss. Actually, blame the GOP for not nominating Ron Paul...

Yes, it would have been much smarter to support Democrat-Lite. Then, we'd have a corporate socialist who would do the same stuff as Obama, while giving lip-service to the fading remnants of the free market. Then, when the inevitable crash comes, people will blame the fading remnants of the free market.

Nice view of political reality.

I am glad that you will enjoy obama's executive actions and endless regulations so much, and i hope you enjoy his Supreme Court nominees.

I suspect that if Democrats are holding the reins when the economy actually does collapse, they'll find some way to blame Republicans for it...

Have you looked into Romneys nominee's?
Ross83 Wrote: Nov 12, 2012 12:03 PM
but we do know Obama's. Love them? Romney would just nominate very standard Republican federal judges. safe bets. Quite different from what Obama has in mind.

In other words,no, you haven't.

It doesn't appear that Ross has looked into much. All I read in Ross posts are assumptions and projections.

Soul-searching is not in the GOP’s blood. Many Republicans see themselves as stoic, rugged and hardworking individuals. But after twice losing the White House to an ex-community organizer and failing to mobilize the base, Republicans need to take a trip to a mountainous valley, sip some tea and meditate.

In the quiet of nature, I think Republicans would find that the solutions to winning lie within themselves. After my own reflection, I developed three key insights into how the GOP can win presidential elections going forward:

#1 Keep an open mind

Early on, talking heads like Ann Coulter disparaged Romney...
