First two paragraphs - pure gold.
For two years all we heard is how Obama wanted to talk with A-jad, to the neglect of the golden opportunity of the Iranian patriots, who were being tortured, raped and killed simply for wanting freedom. So A-jad comes to town, starts talking and Obama's UN crew walks out. This is the incoherence of Obama's Mary Poppins style of diplomacy. We should have learned a long time ago that you mustn't coddle dictators. Our enemies laugh at this nation for its naif foreign policy .

Our Non-War Over Islam

A misleading gloss. While I'm sure a lot of American Muslims breath a sigh of relief to be out of the 3rd world Islamic cesspool, most of them probably retain their core Islamic beliefs. And those beliefs include in large part spreading the faith by any means, including conquest and deception. Look up Taquiyya, Mr. Chapman. Research the Peace of Saladin. Find out what the Koran commends Muslims for doing in order to advance their religion. The Founder of Christianity went to a cruel Cross rather than impose His kingdom on this world. The founder of Islam? Not so much. Is this piece really on TownHall?

The Reluctant Warrior

Almost like when he said during the campaign that Afghanistan was the "real war", it only was for use as a political hit against Bush, and reflected no such belief in the necessity of the war itself. But now that he's in, all that matters is getting out with the least political damage to himself. But of course exalted messiah wouldn't sink to that low moral level, right?
Michelle had the audacity to say she had never been proud of her country. What, exactly, has she added to it from her position of power and privilege? She and her husband both have an innate sense of entitlement, one that allows her to indulge in every manner of high life while the nation suffers, and which allows her husband to lie and twist to cover his own shortcomings. The message still is that character counts. And America, you have jumped the shark one time too many. It really is time to grow up and start voting on principle rather than for the latest smooth flim-flam man. Thanks to the characters now in charge of the government, I am LESS proud of my country than before. Incompetent, Leftists, and arrogant to boot. God help us.

the Lost Promise of Barack Obama

Absolutely superb, but it leaves untouched the central issue of Obama's character. It is possible that he rode into D.C. believing that he really was going to reach across the aisle and be the Great Uniter and Healer, and then set about using his unparalleled political capital not to build consensus, but to shove through his extreme and radical legislative agenda at any cost? Forget the competency question for a moment - the big government economics, the wars, homeland security, relations with traditional international friends - and just consider what kind of person could promise what Obama did on the campaign trail and then deliver to America the bitter gruel we have partaken of these last twenty months.

Afghan War Becoming a Bloody Farce

obama has done nothing but send mixed mutually-canceling signals, most eminent of which was his surge announcement which included a withdrawal timetable that, no doubt, our enemies found extremely useful. America is discovering, at great cost in blood, freedom, and prestige, that community organizing and unfounded liberal idealism can only go so far in influencing the world for freedom and righteousness.

I supported the Afghan War when we had a president that, despite his many faults, was serious about winning it. Sadly, I cannot say that about the one now installed in our highest office.

Why are Republicans so perennially stupid? It's not like the fate of the nation isn't hanging in the balance, or anything.

Golden No Longer

Once a system like that is in place, it's hard to resist taking advantage of it. It's nothing less than an economic and spiritual cancer on the body politic. It would take a lot of integrity to forgo that kind of "cush" career and go out and actually earn the money.

It is no wonder this nation is careening downhill at this advanced date. "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to the people." We have allowed liberals to sow the wind, and we are reaping the whirlwind. God have mercy.

When I go to the track, I start out on my first lap. I haven't run anything yet, but I'm already on Lap One.

When I'm born, I'm already on my first year, though I'm 0 yrs old.

Similarly, the last decade began its first year at year 2000, though it had no time under its belt. 2010 began this century's second decade.
