What is Islam?

Even most Muslims have to read the Koran in translation, as most aren't from Arabic-speaking countries. Yet prominent Muslims from everywhere mostly seem to have the same idea: All of humanity must live under Sharia law, even if it has to be shoved down their throats. The Muslims who don't have that attitude aren't considered real Muslims by the devout; further, they carry no weight in public. So they don't matter. In short, Pipes and Jacoby are wrong, and Erdogan is right. Jacoby is, in addition, a fool.

Heritage's Scare Tactics

On this subject, Linda Chavez is simply and purely an Hispanic shill and chauvinist. All that matters is that her tribe is attracting some negative focus.

Chavez is a hopeless ethnic chauvinist on this subject. (She's OK on affirmative action.) So this column is a hoot. Instead, go the Center for Immigration Studies site, cis.org , and start reading the huge, data-based information there. Here's a timely example: http://cis.org/krikorian/complete-phoniness-gang-8-immigration-bill

America -- Meet Francis Suarez

This is a strikingly vacuous column. Rubio, after all, is a pretty-boy horse's *ss on the critical subject of illegal immigration. Is Suarez any better?

Adams v. UNCW Heads to Trial

"The Fourth Circuit also ruled that the UNCW officials could be held personally liable if I ultimately won the case." If Adams wins, I hope his tormentors get taken to the cleaners, financially.
Securing the border is the least of it. Most important is interior enforcement, making sure jobs aren't available to them. Then they'll self-deport, just as Romney said. Regarding "path to citizenship," they DON'T CARE about citizenship. They DON"T CARE about voting. And there's no reason to think they want to serve on juries. All they care about is to be worry-free concerning deportation to their hellholes of origin. So anything, including that legalizes their presence here amounts to amnesty, no matter what euphemism they cook up for it. And that's game over for the United States as a First World country. Don't be fooled about whether or not there would be a "path to citizenship" -- it's a phony issue.
Kennan, continued: "What we shall then have accomplished is not to have appreciably improved conditions in the Third World (for even the maximum numbers we could conceivably take would be only a drop from the bucket of the planet's overpopulation) but to make this country itself a part of the Third World (as certain parts of it already are), thus depriving the planet of one of the few great regions that might have continued, as it now does, to be helpful to much of the remainder of the world by its relatively high standard of civilization, by its quality as example, by its ability to shed insight on the problems of the others and to help them find their answers to their own problems."
As legendary diplomat George Kennan wrote in his memoir Around The Cragged Hill: "There will be those who will say, 'Oh, it is our duty to receive as many as possible of these people and to share our prosperity with them, as we have so long been doing.' But suppose there are limits to our capacity to absorb. Suppose the effect of such a policy is to create, in the end, conditions within this country no better than those of the places the masses of immigrants have left the same poverty, the same distress." [continued]
Barone: "They need to show how their policies can help them achieve their dreams." Why is it up to the American polity to help illegal-alien Hispanics "achieve their dreams"? (Or Hispanic citizens and legal immigrants, if it requires us winking at our laws on behalf of their illegally-present friends and relatives?) People like Barone have forgotten that this country exists to benefit its own citizens, not to be a flophouse for the poverty legions of the world.
