There are also at least seven million illegal aliens who are working **non-agricultural** jobs, while about 20 million citizens are unemployed. And since illegal aliens are mostly little educated and with few skills, they're concentrated in just the kinds of "starter" jobs that are most useful for introducing our teenagers to the world of work. Prager is generally wise and sharp, but he's dumb as a stump when it comes to Islam. "Good" Muslims can't possibly meet in common purpose with the rest of us, since Islam, by its own tenets, can't co-exist peacfully with any other system for organizing society. Once Muslims have the numbers, they provide hell on earth for everyone else.

There are abundant reasons to be against LEGAL immigration, too. As the late conservative columnist Sam Francis wrote, "If the only problem with illegal immigration is that it's illegal, if you're not willing to say mass immigration by itself is a problem, then why should we have any laws against it at all?"
Rasmussen invokes the weary cliche that we're a "nation of immigrants." Nope. I was born in Chicago and have no other country to return to. The same is true for almost all of the people around me in Montana, and it was true for the large majority around me when I lived in California. As a grandson of immigrants, I recognize that the United States draws newcomers because our founders established a civil society wherein ordinary citizens can lead rewarding lives, not because legions of prior immigrants left unpromising situations to come here. And even if immigration had dominated American history, this shouldn't guide 21st century decisions now that our population exceeds the land's carrying capacity.

Goldberg writes, "I myself am a huge fan of legal immigration." Which simply means he's never thought seriously about the subject. For one thing, mass legal immigration has created the indigestible, non-assimilating enclaves in which **illegal** immigration thrives. Plus **legal** immigration is of less-than-zero benefit to most citizens (aside from users of "cheap" labor and ethnic grievance merchants), yet the United States exists for the benefit of its citizens, as stated in the Constitution's preamble, " .. and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity ...."
Barone doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to immigration. The inflow will surge again when the U.S. economy picks up, UNLESS we've implemented universal use of E-Verify by then AND maintain strict enforcement at the border, the latter for several more decades, at least (until the psychology of illegal entry is broken and, even more, forgotten)..

I generally appreciate Prager, but where he writes "that race and ethnicity don't matter.," he is wrong. Only Europeans and, to a lesser degree, North Asians have been able to build societies that make real the possibility of satisfying lives for most of their populations. As the late Sam Francis wrote, "The civilization that we as whites created in Europe and America could not have developed apart from the genetic endowments of the creating people, nor is there any reason to believe that the civilization can be successfully transmitted to a different people."
The solution is NOT "moderate Islam." Islam is centrally a "religion" of war, a totalitarian system (with some aspects of a personal religion) that aims to organize and control every aspect of life for every human, worldwide. The ACTUAL solution is ending all immigration to the West from Muslim countries and expulsion from the West of all Muslims who show any sympathy for sharia law. Those Muslims who can **prove** that they simply take Islam as a personal religion and and that they recognize the authority of our founding documents, and the institutions built upon them, as supreme in Read http://www.amnation.com/vfr/archives/012935.html View http://thesilentmajority.wordpress.com/2010/01/28/islam-and-the-west-can-they-co-exist-video/

Buchanan writes, "Is this how justice is advanced in Obama's America?" This has nothing to do with justice. Instead, America is under the thumb of a minority occupation government, and left-wing thuggery is their game, not justice.

Buchanan writes that Wonderboy has a "personal reputation as a nice and likable man." I don't understand how anyone could have such a view of this (in Tammy Bruce's words) malignant narcissist.
