What most American's (and Obama) don't know is the the world wide committments for our Navy have not diminished, which has extended Carrier and LHD deployments beyond the what used to be normal 6 month deployments. When we lose Enterprise, we are down to 10 CVN's to meet our committments. The navy is being stretched thin. A one carrier presence (including escorts) in an area of the world ties up 2. That is because while on deployment, the next carrier strike group is undergoing its training cycle to relieve. Sufficient Quantity is a form of Quality.

If $2 billion was available (and true) and not used, then someone (highly placed) should be held criminally liable. What a travesty. Should never foresake security for "appearances". Yet another example of this administrations gross incompetence.
