Rep. Kristi Noem: The President Is Ignoring Tough Choices and Distracting from Real Issues

..no gain, right? Actually, wrong. In the macro, cutting government spending when the private sector is de-levering is economic death. It weakens the economy and prolongs the downturn. There is a time and place to scale back government spending. Here's a hint, kids: it is when the market is NOT shoveling money to the government. Have you looked at how much it cost government to borrow these days? Less than 2% for ten years. If you know economics, and if you understand the market, you interpret this as a signal that the government needs to spend MORE. But the fact is that you clowns do NOT understand the market. All you have is a bunch of moral preening. And it may drive our country's economy into the ground. Lord knows...

No irony at all. Low-effort thinking does not see the bigger picture. If the bigger picture were "no pain, no gain," then the advocates of public austerity would be right. It would be as basic as working out at the corner gym.

Unfortunately, thinking rationally, building the behavior of families and businesses into a macro that intersects with government policy, is a little harder than working off the fat at the corner gym.

What Reeps like Ms. Noem say SOUNDS really deep, but it isn't., It is low-effort stupidity--and the very same low-effort stupidity that got us into this mess.

"This is the choice Americans face. A bunch of clowns who posture and preen, versus grownups who have at least a semblance of economic understanding--who have at least SOME ability to see the bigger picture." So true, so profoundly, ironically true.

..that is what you fools did in those critical years from 2001 to 2007. Yikes did you make a mess of things. And now, after turning a carcass over to the grownups in 2009, you want to send the fragile recovery over the cliff.

This is the choice Americans face. A bunch of clowns who posture and preen, vs. grownups who have at least a semblance of economic understanding--who have at least SOME ability to see the bigger picture. You losers act like you have this ability just because you say "tough choices." Stick your "tough choices" where the sun doesn't shine. It is falsehood that is killing America.

In his weekly address, President Obama called upon Congress to act upon the legislative "to-do" list he issued, via electronic sticky note, earlier this week. With the same old recycled rhetoric, he accused Republicans of being unoptimistic about the economy and having no plan other than cutting taxes (especially for the wealthy, gasp!) to create jobs -- policies which he supposes are the same old tired ideas that got us into "this mess" in the first place. We can't give corporations free reign again, we've got to move Forward! Or something.

But in the weekly GOP...
