Nothing against all the free thinking atheists out there, but what rational argument can be made against “Thou shalt not kill” or “Honor thy Father and Mother”?

Maybe your family needs state intervention. Maybe you family is lost and needs to be told what to do and what to think and how to behave. Mine doesn't.
You never heard of "family values?" Tell me how the state, which true conservatives see as incompetent and blundering, is going to decide what those values are and then inject them into my family? "Family values" really means "state values."
Republicans just lost an election they should have won.

You cannot implement your agenda unless you create a theocracy. What has 30 years of social conservatism gotten you? Are we better off?

Read Rushdoony for an obvious example. He has many followers. And then you have the David Bartons who see the US as a Christian Nation in a real sense. They deny there should be a separation between church and state. That's advocacy for theocracy.
There's a lot of it going on from every direction. No doubt about that. I know you and others want to force me into some lib/progs category, but that's simply because you don't know me. You assume the worse. The reason I'm here is because I hate voting for Democrats. But unfortunately I have no real choice when there's virtually no difference between the parties and at least Democrats aren't too competent and aren't trying to create a theocratic state. Maybe some of you will realize these social issues are killing you.
Then why not join me and be against forcing people either way? Why do you think another's sin gives you permission to sin as well?
