A Conversation with Justice Breyer

What, exactly, does that have to do with the article on Justice Breyer? There will be another time for you to whine about capitalism. Or maybe not. The point is that now is NOT the time.
There may be some agitation in the streets, but it won't have a single thing to do with changes in the financial situations of those doing the agitating. Those most seriously impacted by the financial strain, the middle class of the U.S., aren't inclined to destroy property. They never have been. The riff-raff that would hit the streets are already on the public dole, and their only reason for causing problems would be if they feared an interruption to taxpayers funding of their lifestyle. For Mayor Bloomberg to say he expects rioting is tantamount to inviting it. It's also incredibly irresponsible to hear from the leader of the biggest city in America.
Those treacherous Senators named in the piece (besides Schumer) know exactly what this entails. That they would dare to circumvent the Constitution only shows the need to cut these Senators loose from their burdens as "civil servants". Apparently, it's too much for them under constitutional rules.
If this is the best Boehner could do, then he's not good enough to remain as Speaker. It's up to his constituents whether he stays in the House. I know that I, and my district's Tea Party colleagues, will be actively recruiting someone to face our Congressional Representative in the 2012 elections. An establishment Republican like Boehner, he sold us out instead of following what he himself admitted was an avalanche of anti-compromise correspondence. Apparently the remaining RINO's in the House didn't get the message in 2010. Saying that you're fiscally conservative and having an "R" beside your name on the Congressional roll call is no longer enough. Voters are paying attention. Republicans who blinked on this budget debacle...
Hyperbole will get you nowhere, Eugene.
Do you ever plan on making sense?
As a sophist, I would expect that you'd be well versed in their practices. And you do realize that none of these people are your sons, don't you? Nobody respects you any more because of your feeble bullying tactics. In fact, we all see you for the pseudo-intellectual blowhard that you really are. Learn some facts, then get back to us.
The filibuster was used exactly ZERO times in the 111th Congress, Pat Liberal. Get your facts straight. Congress was fully in the hands of the Democrats, and the Senate had a filibuster-proof majority. Don't blame their failure to get something accomplished on Republicans. Utilizing legislative procedure? Fancy words for acting like cowards and disrupting the democratic process.
I'll take my chances with someone new. We've seen what Obama can do and, frankly, it's not much. Unless you call disagreeing with the plurality of voters on almost every issue an accomplishment. Then he's the best thing since sliced bread and the wheel.
