Daniel Okrent, the New York Times's first and probably last real Public Editor, wrote the following last column; "13 Things I Meant to Write About but Never Did" http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/22/weekinreview/22okrent.html?pagewanted=all It provides examples of the liberal, actually:"urban" leaning according to "Pinch", of every aspect of the paper. He had this to say bout Paul Krigman "2. Op-Ed columnist Paul Krugman has the disturbing habit of shaping, slicing and selectively citing numbers in a fashion that pleases his acolytes but leaves him open to substantive assaults." The column is worth reading or rereading.
Everyinesfacts, Obviously your questions show that do not understand plain English. "US history high school text book" not comprehensive. ":The anti-American academics write" plural not singular. Including more pages on Clinton, no mention of Lewinsky, than on the Founding Fathers , a descriptive term not mentioned in the history, not PC, results in the absolute ignorance of our youths about American history. . "Everyone is entitled ot his own opinion not his own facts" Senator Daniel Patrick Moynahan
Anyone who is surprised by the revisionist history studies, including PBS programs, has probably never reviewed a US history high school text book or questioned high school students on their knowledge of US history. In 2001 I had suchopportunities and found more pages dedicated to the Clinton administration than Washington,Jefferson and Adams combined. -the students most important knowledge about Washington and Jefferson was they owned slaves, they knew more about Adams's wife than they knew about him and Lincoln was probably gay. So much for America's history as taught today. The anti-American academics write the books while the liberal education gurus in the States buy them for their schools.
First the US processes 20 Million Barrels per day of crude oil so releasing 30 million barrels is a 1 1/2 day supply, a drop in the bucket. Second, the average cost of the strategic reserve crude is in the range of 28-29.00 dollars per barret so re[placing the 30 million barrels with 80-90.00 dollar crude will cost billions.A political fraud on the American taxpayer .

Which Side is God On?

Those who claim that Jesus was a big-government socialist provider with regard to helping those in need and reducing individuals personal responsibility to simply "Love thy Neighbor' and replacing it with government programs is a misreading of His message. Jesus Christ made the point "to render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's" with no guidelines as to how the Romans were to spend the tax monies. "For you will have the poor always with you" Matthew 26.11 and nowhere in the New Testament does Jesus Christ lay the responsibility for caring for the poor, the sick the hungry or thirsty, the homeless or any oppressed people on any governmental body. He did not cite King Herod, the priests of the...

How to Stop the Tyrannical Judiciary

Patrick4922 Wrote: Aug 12, 2010 6:54 AM
The deconstruction of the Constitution is alive and well in the Judiciary as evidenced by the recent Federal court decisions in Arizona and California. Even Thomas Jefferson cautioned that the "Supreme Court’s power to determine constitutionality must be curbed or it will continue to consolidate the power of the federal government. Jefferson argued that the judiciary’s independence from the will of the people upsets the checks and balances established by the Constitution."

Cheering Immaturity

Mr. Hudson's speech is a a reflection of what he has learned or been exposed to during his four high school years as there is an intense internal battle at Hunter College High between those who want to do away with the entrance exam and those who want to maintain it. Dumbing down requirements, especially, graduation requirements in New York, is the way to insure continued Federal funding.
Listening to Obama and Gibbs is akin to sitting down with Alice at the Madhatter's Tea party as sheer nonsense is being uttered according to the
Alice in Wonderland linguistic world of Humpty Dumpty ""When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone,' it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less."
Today the promised " jolt' to the economy by the stimulus package no longer means a sudden result but a long drawn out rather 'iffy' result maybe sometime in the future unless things change in the meantime.
"his efforts to demolish barriers based on economic advantage, to close the gap between the impoverished and the privileged." is a strange phraseology unless one assumes that Mr.Medved considers the taxpayers who contribute 97% of federal income tax receipts as privileged and the 47% who are supported to be 'impoverished and he supports Obama's intention and efforts to impoverish the tax paying privileged.
"we have the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world. We need to cut it. We also need to get rid of the capital gains tax and move towards a flat tax, fair tax, or national sales tax – any of which would likely lead to massive economic growth."
Unless Mr.Hawkins is proposing to do away with the Income Tax completely, he is following the EU model, high personal income taxes plus an Added Value or similar tax. Look where the EU economies are today and see the future.
