I totally agree with you Aliveinhim. My hubby and I did the same thing 13 yrs ago when we were waiting for our beautiful boy to arrive. I was making about 30,000.00 per yr then not a tiny amt esp when added to the hubby's pay but after figuring out all other costs, it wasn't worth it and like you I knew I couldn't let someone else raise him and we are glad we did it. It was a struggle at times but totally worth it!
