Seems everybody is missing a part of the calculation. In order to determine how much the owner of this projected car will save, you need the PERIOD OF TIME over which the savings supposedly are recaptured. I drive roughly 20,000 miles a year in business. My Rav4 gets 27.3 mpg, The average cost of regular gas around here has been $3.60/gal this year. That means I spent $2638 on gas in a year. So this alleged "car" is going to save me $8000 over a period of what -- 10 years? The rest of my life? I know Obama is lousy at math, but this one is a real stinker!
