We dropped cable and satellite services well over a year ago and went back to an antenna. We get all of the local networks plus a number of stations in our area such as a local ION station. For anything else, we use a small computer as our video server and stream stuff from Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and or the websites of providers like the History Channel. Are there things we can't get, yes. Do we miss them, no. Do we save lots of money over the what we were spending? Definitely yes. And HOAs cannot make you take down a antenna. FCC blocks that.

If you stopped watching network television awhile ago because it had gotten so bad, you made the correct decision. It has continued to get worse. A few years ago, network television became dominated by cheaply made reality TV shows and talent contests, sitcoms with hyperactive manic characters, and socially liberal themes. Television has always pushed the edge when it comes to socially progressive themes. But at what point does it go too far? Perhaps when there are no other options left during prime time network TV.
